you may have noticed that this month boasts more posts than any other month this year thus far. moreover, if you glance at the blog archives you will notice this month also has more posts than any month in 2004 or 2006! however, all this posting and so little commenting is very discouraging!! you guys suck!

just kidding. but seriously. come on. the video was funny. and impressive. so help me out.

cynthia.

i did some extensive research that should significantly boost your page views for this week. i do find that over time you have commented a much higher percentage of the time.

however, consistent with my 2007 new years resolutions, i have commented on your blog in 2007 the same amount of times as you have commented on mine.

an informal observation: i think bekah*jo wins the commenting prize, with KJ a close second...on both blogs.

thank you to everyone for your comments.

Which brings up an interesting question: Can you tell anything useful about a person from their posts and / or the frequency of their posts?

You learn a few things about each person every time they post. You get the time of day, relative frequency, choice of vocabulary ( which remains surprisingly static over time ), and even the pages they view before and after visiting the blog.

On the other hand, maybe the blog itself is too variable to be sure of anything useful. Interest can wax and wane naturally and interests change completely at times.

Still I suspect you may be able to detect the arrival of unusual perturbation in a persons real life by paying close enough attention to the statistical details of their blog life.

For example: Sharon didn't post on anyones blog while on vacation. That is statistically an improbable event and you can deduce at least something interesting about it.

I wonder whom amongst you I may choose for observational research.
