traveling pants & slurpees

lest you be afraid that i'm wasting away into an old fogey here in oregon, i thought i should make you aware of the fact that i attended, along with some high school girls from the youth group, a movie called the sisterhood of traveling pants on sunday night. this movie is a chick-flick to the EXTREME. based on an apparently popular book, it was not a waste of time to see, but i can think of no guy in the world who would enjoy the movie even one tiny bit.

there is a 7-11 right down the road from the church. i frequented it often last summer for slurpees. it is not uncommon to run into various staff members of the church at the 7-11 while making these slurpee runs. in fact, just today i saw the missions pastor buying a candy bar as i was picking up a big gulp coke. it is about 72 today, so there was a mad rush of oregonians in sleeveless tshirts and shorts and flipflops around the slurpee machine. i was too cold to drink a slurpee so i had to settle for the big gulp. having spent 3 years in college station, where, for some unkown reason to me there are NO 7-11's and thus NO slurpees, the 7-11 just down the road provides great happiness. a church office away from the church office, if you will.

because I can't stand to see the words "0 comments" i offer this reminisce: when I was a wee child of about 8, mimi's mother lived NEXT DOOR to a 7-11 and I still remember the thrill of walking in to buy a slurpee!!

does the slurpee replace the Sonic coke? Do you have a Sonic nearby? I know you're lacking the CFA experience, so I certainly hope you have the pleasure of a Sonic from time to time.

i would just like to say, thatm to answer anyone's questions about sonic, the closest one to troutdal, OR is inkansas. so i think we all deserve a little pitty.
but we do have a drive-in AnW, so that is pretty close, but it is still not sonic, i agree to the thought that just popped up in your head.

what flavor slurpees does 7 11 have nowadays? I haven't had a slurpee in an entire year! but I did have sonic yesterday. :) and it's not very often that you see the words "0 comments" on the sharester...

word to the 7-ness. If it wasn't for the 24 hour 7 by our house in Phuket, I would surely starve.

you titled this post "traveling pants & slurpees" there are currently five comments and they ALL refer to slurpees and not one about the traveling pants. Good news...i bring a comment about travling pants. to understand this you must be provided w/ some context. so here ya go...we were eating dinner this evening (me J*rod, Jfer & RKJ - weird her initials are mine too i know!) well actually we were eating Key Lime Pie Blue Bell Ice Cream (yum) and we were talking about all the different flavors that Blue Bell has so RKJ & J*rod started making up names for flavors they want them to make. this went on for a few moments and then...

RKJ: "they should make a flavor called TRAVELING PANTS hahahaha"

(J*rod gives Rachel a funny look)

RKJ: what? you dont even know what im talking about!

J*rod: yes i do its a movie. the sisterhood of the traveling pants

RKJ: why do you know about it? its not like you're going to go see it.

J*rod: i might

Me: actually sharon said that she didn't think any boys would like it

J*rod: how would sharon know?

Me: uh, because she lives in oregon

J*rod: what does that have to do with it??

RKJ: cuz Oregon gets movies before America does!
